I've been traveling with the new production model boards over the last few months and I've had the chance to ride them in aa lot of different conditions. All I can say is that I'm just really happy to be riding production boards that feel this good. This one is called the WAM.
I'll post the other models here soon so check back...

-WAM. The performance all-rounder.
A high performance all-rounder, the WAM is suited to nearly all conditions from small onshore mush to powerful beach and reef breaks. The WAMs ability to adapt to nearly all conditions makes it the perfect travel board or the perfect one-board-quiver. Super smooth and lively under your feet, the slightly fuller outline, semi-boxy rails and pulled in thumb tail carry lots of speed when the waves are small yet still provide hold and drive when you need it most in bigger surf. The tri/quad fin configuration gives you the option of riding the WAM in quad fin mode for a more skatey and snappy feeling ideal for smaller waves or in thruster mode for more drive and more positive back foot drive in bigger surf.

Just wrapping up here in the Canaries. I had a pretty successful time here with a 3rd place finish in the races in Fuerteventura and a 2nd in the surf in Tenerife. The new surfboards felt super good and the waves were really fun to ride on my backhand. My girlfriend Kristin Boese took 3rd in the freestyle! - Sky
North Kiteboarding Press release.
The second world tour stop of the PKRA Wave was held in overhead surf and super strong wind this past weekend in Tenerife, Spain. The rocky point at El Cabezo did not disappoint and dished up consistent clean walls and vertical sections, allowing event directors to complete a dingle elimination ladder in two consecutive days in ideal conditions. North rider and shaper Sky Solbach powered his way to the final where he was finally stopped by Brazilian Guilly Brandao. Said Sky of his final with Guilly: "I was stoked to be in the final with Guilly. I got one good score early on in the heat and then kind of got out of rhythm with the sets and couldn't find a second good wave to back it up. That's how it goes sometimes but I'm stoked for 2nd place anyways and looking forward to the next event in Oz in December." Sky was riding a production WAM 6'0" 2011 and Rebel 2011.
Final results:
1. Guilly Brandao (Mormaii, BRA)
2. Sky Solbach (North, USA)
3. Bruno Bordorsky (RRD, BRA)

Here is a little video from this winter in Australia and last week here in Oregon. I've got some more trips coming up soon so hopefully I can collect some more footage to make an even better update in a few weeks. Thanks to Jim Stringfellow for the go pro mounts!

I spent the better part of the winter season behind the computer screen, in the shaping bay and driving back and forth to the beach testing and prototyping new surf designs for North. I recently got to test some of the production samples during the team photo shoot in the Dominican Republic and I'm pretty stoked with the results. I'll post some pictures and news about what's coming in the next few weeks as pictures become available...stay tuned.
